Morsels is a cursed Pokemon roguelike for sewer-enjoyers, and it's out this November
Morsels sees you gain the power to transform into sewer creatures thanks to a sentient fatberg – no, really.
Morsels, a creature-collecting roguelike that takes place in a sewer full of odd critters, is coming out on November 18, as announced at the Future Games Show at gamescom.
From publisher Annapurna Interactive and developer Furcula, the studio's debut game sees you take on the role of a wee mouse trapped in a sewer, granted powers that allow them to transform into different Morsel creatures thanks to a magic, living fatberg.
With the powers of each Morsel transformation you collect on a run, you've got to battle the cats that run the sewer system and its various levels to successfully escape. As an example of these Morsel forms, the newest trailer gives us a look at Gomsel, a sentient bubblegum blob that allegedly came from a wizard's shoe, which can blow a bubble that blocks all sorts of attacks from enemies.
But there are plenty more to collect on your journey, and you can freely switch between each one you have available in your roster. Since Morsel is a roguelike, upgrading your transformations is also key, enhancing the abilities your Morsels or even granting them quirks or ailments.
You'll have no doubt also noticed Morsel's striking retro, pixel-art aesthetic. It has a certain strange, stinky, and slightly psychedelic vibe that I don't think I've ever seen before, but I'm here for it. The game will also feature secret levels with unique art styles and their own mechanics and twists.
As mentioned, you'll be able to play Morsels from November 18, 2025, on PS5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. However, there's a demo you can download on Steam right now!
