Say what you want about Crimson Desert, but one thing that's undeniable is how darn quick Pearl Abyss has been in responding to player feedback and pushing out patches like it has a quote to fill. The studio's latest update adds new skills, an option to hide weapons, and an even faster fast-forward option, for some reason.
Crimson Desert's 1.03.00 patch is available on every platform the game is - except for the three people playing on the Mac App Store, which is in-progress - and its headlining feature is the fresh new skills. Kliff now has something called a Focused Aerial Roll, an ability I'm guessing lets you dodge mid-air.
For Damiane and Oongka, the developer "added Axiom Force, Nature's Snare and related abilities," while also making the former's Shield Toss and the latter's Scatter Shot have the same effect as Kliff's Force Palm.
Article continues belowThe new Crimson Desert patch is stuffed with other goodies, though. You can now teleport even when on horseback, swimming, climbing, or falling to your demise. And for anyone who likes using a certain weapon for its bone-smashing capabilities but doesn't like looking at it because it doesn't really fit Kliff's vibe, then, good news: toggles for weapon displays are now a thing, letting you hide your murder tools when they're not in use.
Then there's that fast-forward feature. Crimson Desert received many a side eye before its hotly anticipated launch when players found out about how the game lets you drastically speed up dialogue and cutscenes as if you're skimming through a TikTok video that's only half interesting. Well, Pearl Abyss is now letting everyone with fried attention spans get through the talky-talky parts even quicker: "Fast Forward speed can be set up to 4x" in the options menu.
The rest of the Crimson Desert patch is full of small fixes, little tweaks, balance updates, control improvements, and much more. You can read the full patch notes for a rundown on everything that's new.
