Bounty Star, the upcoming 3D mech combat action and base building game, just got a new trailer as part of the Future Games Show, as well as new story details and perhaps most importantly, an official release date that's not so far into the future: October 23, 2025.
Bounty Star (or to use its full title, Bounty Star: The Morose Tale of Graveyard Clem) looks a lot like a hybrid of Armored Core, Borderlands and Weird West from what we've seen so far, a callback to classic sci-fi westerns, with a great big robot suit at the center of everything.
Protagonist Clem is a former soldier who becomes a bounty hunter in the post-apocalyptic American Southwest, using their skills as a mech pilot to commandeer, upgrade and wreck havoc with the Desert Raptor MKII. So, from what I see, the pitch here is "what if the Man with No Name traded his revolver for a Gundam?" Sure, I can definitely work with that idea.
The game also promotes a base building and farming element where the rewards earned from hunting other mechs go towards building up your homestead, securing resources, power, animals, and filling out what your mech's garage can offer for the next time you thunder into combat.
With the release scheduled for October 23, Bounty Star is planned for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, including being available on Game Pass.
