An extra on The Boys season 5 has recounted a moment that saw Homelander actor Antony Starr lay down the law on set.
"Can finally share this story, but someone’s phone went off during a take," HackermanJoe said on Twitter, referring to filming of A-Train's funeral, which necessitated various crowd shots.
They continued, "Antony Starr, in full character as Homelander, stood up and looked at the crowd to very sternly say 'turn off your fucking phone'. Scariest shit I’ve ever seen in my life."

With Starr going full method – presumably with plenty of teeth-gnashing – it's a little wonder, then, that creator and showrunner Eric Kripke has teed up this final season by mentioning how Homelander's happiness (and lack thereof) is a key theme this year.
"We really make the point [that] the more powerful he becomes, the less happy he becomes," Kripke told SFX magazine. "He can't understand why. He assumes that he just needs to get a little more powerful. We have a guy who the president answers to, and he finds himself more miserable than ever. He’s like, 'Okay, what are the next steps that can finally make me happy?' We explore those steps in season five, and they’re batshit."
While the extras involved in A-Train's funeral were almost certainly NDA'd up to the eyeballs, A-Train actor Jessie T. Usher raised eyebrows just days before The Boys season 5's premiere by describing a scene with Starr that sounded suspiciously like a death scene for the speedster.
Now, we know that was the case – even if Kripke was initially reluctant to kill A-Train off so early in the final season. But we're in the endgame now, and all bets are off.
