The Last Ninja
Surprisingly, a continuation of the classic Commodore 64 frustrate-a-thon was announced in 2002 for Xbox. Appearing to take a style similar to that of Ninja Gaiden - although its early screens weren't quite up to that game's gallons of polish - it was a brave choice to stake a UK claim on a genre so thoroughly ruled by the Japanese big boys. It was possibly too brave, as nothing more was seen of the game, either before or after its stated 2004 release.
Comeback chance?
Since it was never clear when or why it vanished in the first place, The Last Ninja could perhaps return again - and hopefully to stay next time.
