We've been dealt some new images of Eye of Judgment, the EyeToy-enabled card-battle game that's being developed for PlayStation 3, and we've placed a handful on the images tab above for your perusal.
Designed by EyeToy creator Richard Marks, Eye of Judgment brings monster-fighting card games to life using the EyeToy and a special mat to sense which cards are being dealt, and then lets the PS3 play out the consequences. The result is a visually stunning game which has mystical creatures bursting out of the backs of cards and causing carnage. The deck has a total of 30 cards, featuring numerous creatures armed with various magical powers, and the playing style is not unlike Yu-Gi-Oh or Magic: The Gathering. The idea is to offer a massive amount of match-ups that can be created online or off.
When we saw the game being demonstrated at E3 earlier this year, it was obvious that it was being targeted at younger gamers. Of course, if you're not a fan of card games, a lot of the innovation will be lost. But it's definitely an interesting use of EyeToy technology, and shows Sony is keen to investigate new ways to interact with games.
