Zack Snyder not directing Star Wars spin-off

Zack Snyder has denied any involvement with a potential Star Wars spin-off, amid rumours that the director was set to helm a Jedi-centric story based upon Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai .

Snyder had been linked to a standalone film set after the events of Episode VI , with a group of Jedi warriors standing in for Kurosawa’s samurai for hire.

However, a Snyder representative was quick to quash said rumours, denying that Snyder would be having any involvement in any such project.

“While he is super flattered because he is a huge fan,” reads the statement, “Zack is not involved in any way with Star Wars . He is currently in post [ production ] on his two films, Man of Steel and 300: Battle of Artemisia .”

And so it remains that no director is officially confirmed for any of the new Star Wars movies. Surely something has to give soon?
