Winter Holidays 2011: What is your MMO planning?

Everquest II

Norrath, as is custom, plays host to Frostfell this year. Players can enter the Frostfell Wonderland Village through Magic Closets scattered about the land. Special Frostfell goodies can be craft and some can even be purchased. In addition, Santa Glug is out and about giving those adventurers who ask a gift.

Fiesta Online

Final Fantasy XI

Final Fantasy XIV

Free Realms

This time of year in Free Realms means one thing: Snow Days are back! The Gifting Tree and presents have all returned. Unfortunately, this also means the Abominable Snowman and his snow-covered minions will also be trying to steal those presents. Special Snow Days outfits can be gathered through quests or the marketplace.

Global Agenda

Global Agenda’s phoning it in even worse than Dungeon Fighter Online this year. The entirety of the holiday celebration in Global Agenda consists of players purchasing a variety of different helmets to wear. Then again, people do seem to love buying hats in Team Fortress 2, so...

Guild Wars

Wintersday 2011 is up and running in Guild Wars as you read this. Though they may fade on Jan. 1, there are a number of holiday activities to pursue in Lion’s Arch, Kamadan and the Eye of the North, ranging from quests, missions and games with their own sets of prizes.

Kingdom of Loathing

The Crimbo season has already descended upon the Kingdom of Loathing, but there’s certainly still more in store for any wayward adventurers who might happen past Uncle Crimbo’s mobile home in Crimbo Town. One thing to keep in mind, however, is that the only currency he’s accepting this year is candy, so… yeah.

League of Legends

Of the various events across all MMOs this year, one of the most appealing is the Snowdown Showdown over at League of Legends. Not only are the game’s festive skins available for champions Maokai, Heimerdinger, LeBlanc and Gangplank, but the map itself has taken on a distinctly winter-inspired look. Well, that or Summoner’s Rift had a freak snowstorm when nobody was looking.
