The Witcher - hands-on

If suicide-bombing gnomes and the ethnic cleansing of elves is a bit too much, be happy that our silver-haired hero is rather more stereotypical; kind of a fantasy Jedi, born with superhero powers, a mastery of swords and a destiny that can weave in-between light and dark, depending on your preference for such things.

Rather disappointingly for a game based on acclaimed literary works, it seems incongruous and slightly lazy that the makers are relying on the old amnesia trick to set the scene for the game, especially since a knowledge of the books isn’t essential (which is just as well, seeing as they won’t be published in English until April).
