In case you somehow missed it, Super Mario 3D Land launched this weekend, giving the 3DS it's first killer original title. We enjoyed it enough to give it a well-deserved 9/10. As part of its launch this weekend, Nintendo had a pretty cool promotion in the heart of New York City, Times Square. There they set up a 3D recreation of the world Mario explores and gave people a slightly early peek at the game. Take a look:

Looks like it was pretty fun and we'd kill for one of those jackets the people demoing the game were wearing. And obviously Nintendo went to a lot of work to build this world, as you can see in this time-lapsed video:

Nintendo also supplied us with some cute pics from the event. Look closely and you may spot 80s musician Bon Jovi in there. (Hint: he's one of the few not doing Mario cosplay.)
