Sonic 2 and Streets of Rage for iPhones get free co-op update

Love playing Sonic on your iPhone, but can't stand the crippling fear of being alone? There's an app for that.

Sega has released an update for both Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Streets of Rage for iPhones and iPod touches that now allows gamers touse bluetooth to tap away against cartoony evil doers together.

The multiplayer-enabling update is available now for free in the app store and requires each gamer to have their own copy of the respective games as well as an iPhone and iPod touch with 3.x OS or higher. Once loaded, gamers can play in a brand new co-op mode as either Sonic or Tales in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Generic Bruiser #1 or Generic Bruiser #2 in Streets of Rage.

Sonic 2 is selling for $5.99 and Streets of Rage for $2.99. Adecent price to pay for nostalgia, no?
