Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy
On PC/PS2/Xbox | By Midway
It's not your run-of-the-mill third-person shooter, despite what the metal corridors and armoured soldiers would have you believe: this one's psionically gifted. So in addition to shooting at enemies, you can also levitate them off cliffs, throw objects on to them, set them alight, possess them… the possibilities for comedy sadism are endless and satisfying.
You need to play Psi-Ops to appreciate how the unrealistic can work so realistically – afterwards, other action games feel limited when you realise you can't surf through a level on a levitating plank.
