Broken Sea announced by King Arthur dev, Neocore Games

Over the years, Neocore Games has carved out a niche for themselves in the strategy genre. Though their titles are often heavily compared to the Total War games, their unique brand of fantasy storytelling gives them their unique personality.

Last month, we learned about their upcoming game The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing, but they're also taking on another project, one that's a bit more inside their comfort zone. Broken Sea is to be another strategy RPG with fairly prominent fantasy elements.

We don't know a lot about the game just yet, but the single piece of concept art released shows a giant floating ornate city/boat. It doesn't look like this will follow in the King Arthur gameplay mold though.

“Broken Sea follows the classical traditions of RPG adventures," said Zoltan Pozsonyi of Neocore said. "Putting a party together in search of the truth is a tale anybody can get behind. Thanks to the epic story and the unique party-based tactics on offer, Broken Sea is poised to offer something really engaging and immersive to players.”

From the sound of things, Neocore seems to be ditching the military tactics of Arthur in favor of a more personal, party-based combat experience. Let's just hope they don't toss out everything from their last series. We loved the choose-your-own adventure style of fantasy storytelling in the Arthur games.
