Blade Runner 2 has a release date but we'll have to be patient

We had plenty of Blade Runner 2 news last year, from Ryan Gosling confirming his role to Ridley Scott revealing the very first scene at the American Film Institute. Now however, it seems we're going to have to wait a while until we actually see the finished product. The Blade Runner sequel is set to release on January 12, 2018 in US cinemas.

It's quite the wait but of what we know so far, it might just be worth it. Denis Villeneuve of Sicario fame is directing the sci-fi sequel, with Ridley Scott supplying the story and Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling confirmed in starring roles. Last year Villeneuve discussed the "deep fear" he has taking on Blade Runner 2 so it's good that the production is taking plenty of time. It's planned to start filming this summer.
