The Champions League is an amazing showcase of the drama and passion of the Beautiful Game, but EA has mostly wasted an opportunity to transition it to the 360 by repackaging FIFA 07 with a shinier coat of paint.

Ooh, we like that. Having just loaded up UEFA for the first time, were greeted by the stirring operatic Champions League theme so familiar for people who actually watch UK soccer, at least. Anyone unfortunate enough to have played UEFA Champions League 2004-2005 on the original Xbox will be welcoming this follow-up in the same way that Pedro Mendes looks forward to a Ben Thatcher challenge. It was a shocker, hastily put together by a new EA team (separate from the FIFA guys) and it showed in everything from the jerktastic animation to the brainless player AI.
