Todo Juegos (translated) is reporting that Microsoft is planning a new promotion for Europe. Said promotion should run between November 1st, 2007 until January 31st, 2008. The gist of it is pretty simple. Just get a friend to purchase a new 360 at some point during the promotion, attach a copy of the receipt to a special coupon (PDF link), mail it in, and both you and your friend will receive ten free Xbox Live Arcade games. The games reportedly offered are:
Capcom has released the first official look at their remake of Super Street Fighter II Turbo on the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3. Though it is only one simple image, it is far more detailed than the spec sheet released at Capcom's gamer day. According to Brian Dunn, Product Marketing Specialist, the image released is not a "concept piece", but rather is what the game will look like paused and with the backgrounds stripped away. It is a great look at just what is possible with 2D graphics on next gen consoles.
Geometry Wars reign as the 'Halo' of Xbox LIVE Arcade is in serious jeopardy as the highly anticipated release of Capcom's Street Fighter II' Hyper Fighting is set for Wednesday, August 2nd.
Last week Microsoft put some order into Live Arcade by announcing Xbox Live Arcade Wednesdays, a new promotion which - funnily enough - sees Live Arcade receiving new titles on Wednesdays. Things jumped into action with Frogger appearing on Arcade on July 12, and so far it's been announced that Frogger will be followed by Cloning Clyde, Galaga, Street Fighter II' Hyper Fighting and Pac-Man.
As expected, Street Fighter II' Hyper Fighting will be pricier than its brethren, weighing in at 800 Marketplace points, or around $10. Cloning Clyde will bear the same price point, most likely due to the fact that it is a brand-new title.
The Xbox Australia website has Street Fighter II' Hyper Fighting listed for a 30 July 2006 release, could this be the release date?
