Gears of War sold out in Japan (News)

Gears of War, released last week in Japan in a shocking turn of events has sold out across the country! Despite a high score from the highly acclaimed Famitsu most analyst were certain that Gears of War, which is a western title would not do very well in the anti FPS country of Japan. The demo has drawn crowds throughout stores across Japan and Microsoft now has to scramble to restock store shelves. Will Gears of War help Microsoft win the war in Japan? Highly doubtful but it is a step in the right direction for Microsoft and the Xbox in Japan.

Konami's greatest games keep appearing on Xbox Live - and somehow, Scramble showed up too. While games like Time Pilot aged gracefully, this side-scrolling space shooter feels old and inflexible, a crusty gaming battleship dragged out of drydock. All you can do is stare and go, "Wow, that's old." Granted, they gave the old girl a fresh coat of paint - a major improvement, considering the horrifying original color scheme changes flourescent shades every few seconds - but the gameplay underneath ...

Another Konami Arcade classic has just been released on the Xbox Live Marketplace. This week's title is Scramble, a horizontal scrolling shoot 'em up from 1981. It's only 23.50MB and you can get the full version for 400MP. It's featuring the same interface as the rest of the Konami classics and the graphics have been polished as well.
