360 Review
Jan 10, 2008 Oldsters will immediately be reminded of the classic Capcom shooter Forgotten Worlds upon firing up Live Arcades latest offering, Omega Five. Like Forgotten Worlds, the characters in Omega Five dont need any fancy space ships to perforate the hundreds of bogeys inhabiting their constantly scrolling world. These heroes simply fly - or float - through each level, shooting in 360 degrees and generally wreaking havoc. Though Omega Five isnt really all that long, the difficulty easily ...

360 - Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad - Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad

Onechanbara is one of those bizarre, yet wildly popular franchises that makes absolutely zero sense without the disclaimer "Japanese fan favorite." The series is so popular that not only has it spawned games on the PS2 and Wii, but also an admittedly awful feature film of the same name. Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad, however, is the first installment to make the leap to HD on the Xbox 360. ...

360 - Operation Darkness - Operation Darkness

Operation Darkness is a strategy/fantasy JRPG set in World War II. It’s also the ugliest game we have ever seen on Xbox 360. We salute developer Atlus for trying something different by marrying a strategy JRPG to the World War II setting, but if they’re not going to make a game visually worthy of a next-gen system, why should we get excited about the gameplay? The hodgepodge of different gaming elements thrown into Operation ...

360 - Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising - Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising

There’s nothing wrong with an M16 having almost infinite ammo and range. The same goes for paintball-style close-quarters combat and recharging health.

But that’s not the Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising way. Get a bit too enthusiastic suppressing an ambush early on and it won’t be long before you hear the horrifying click of your empty chamber. ...

Oct 9, 2007 You can't get much for sixty bucks these days. Dinner and a movie for two? Perhaps. A pair of jeans? Maybe one leg. So there's no way five incredible games, all worthy of individual purchase, would be available for that low, low price, right? You poor naive fool, says Valve, how wrong you are. Their Orange Box is finally here, and its five big sections - Half-Life 2: Episode Two, Team Fortress 2, Portal, Half-Life 2, and Half-Life 2: Episode One - are all juicy, delicious, and ...

War: it sure is unpleasant. So it's a bit of a relief to find a World War II game that refuses to take itself too seriously and creates a shamelessly fun experience without too much consideration of historical accuracy. That's THQ's action/strategy shooter The Outfit. Despite some pretty glaring shortcomings, such as bland level design and yucky controls, The Outfit's commitment to delivering a good time raises it above those flaws and makes it a game that you should play. That is, if you like ...

360 - Outrun Online Arcade - Xbox Live Arcade - OutRun Online Arcade

It’s really very simple. You drive fast; it looks pretty; a lovely blonde urges you on. Yep, Outrun is really very, very simple. Outrun was born in a time when games were dumb as hell. It was a good time rammed with simple thrills and instantly accessible excitement. In the 80s nobody was especially concerned with physics, simulated car handling, real-world tracks, or halfway-decent clothing. ...

Shrieking through the sky at over 600 knots, loosing two heat-seekers at an unidentified foreign bogey should really get your adrenaline pumping, but somehow Over G Fighters manages to completely neuter the experience. Sadly, the game takes a systematic approach to draining all of the fun out of sitting in the cockpit of today's most cutting edge jets. Over G begins by setting up your fighter's controls with the assumption that you didn't buy this flight-sim for its simulation qualities. The ...

We step into bright midday sunshine. Before us lies a textbook country vista: rolling hills stretch off into the distance, blanketed by lush green grass. Flowers angle their heads towards the sun and a flock of sheep nonchalantly chew upon the grass. Its an idyllic scene. But the peace is about to be shattered. Smirking maliciously, we project our will to the diminutive creatures standing next to us. Their howls of laughter fill the air as a handful of them rush over to the nearest group of ...
