PES 2008: "We knew we could do better"

Konami dev reveals disappointment in video interview

Oct 15, 2007

Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 on PS3 and Xbox 360 is "far away" from the game that Shingo 'Seabass' Takatsuka wanted to see on next-generation hardware, the legendary Konami dev has revealed to GamesRadar during a recent interview.

"We knew we could have done better," Seabass told us, but the hassle of a multiplatform launch and pressured development deadlines hamstrung Konami's ambition. However, Seabass is confident that the difference between this year's and next year's edition of PES will be as great as that between PS2's first footie outing and last year's PES6.

Point your eyes down for the full interview, touching on licensing, multiplatform development and just what Seabass thinks about PlayStation 3.
