The first time publisher Ubisoft spoke to us about the new Prince of Persia game, we’ll admit we feared it was going to stink so badly we’d staple week-old roadkill to our faces to try to mask its smell. The super-macho Prince, always the center of this platform adventure series, is being hobbled with a new sidekick character whose help you require for basically everything? ...

When we first saw the first concept art for a new Prince of Persia early last year, we were immediately curious as to why the Prince was sporting a face-covering scarf and metal gauntlet in place of the Dagger of Time and his usual cocky smirk. It wasn't long before the answer was revealed, though: it's a different guy. The new, as-yet-unsubtitled Prince of Persia will be another reboot for the venerable franchise, with zero connection to ...   » Read Full Prince of Persia (next-gen) preview

A new direction for the prince?
Feb 21, 2007
Assassins Creed is borrowing heavily from the Princes moves, but it wont replace the full-blown next-gen platformer that the developers at Ubisoft are already crafting. After the time-traveling trilogy played out in Sands of Time, Warrior Within and The Two Thrones, this new game wont pick up where the Prince left off, but will be the beginning of an all-new saga. A Ubisoft leak gave us concept art of the new game and the only details we have on this 360 and PS3 debut so far. However, after ...   » Read Full Prince of Persia (next-gen) preview

I guess if you REALLY like achievement icons then, yeah, stay away from this game. If you like GAMING however, this game is fantastic. But, like all games it has a few flaws. First, the boss battles are somewhat linear and redundant, but the achievements challenge you to change up the fights. Also, the controls are easy to use, but at times they're EXTREMELY frustrating. You'll more than likely find yourself cursing the game when you try to do something as simple as a wall-run and end up jumping to your doom. On the other hand, the positives are staggering. The visual style of this game is absolutely gorgeous and the way it flows with the style of gameplay is essentialy flawless. The landscapes are magnificent and intrueging and the addition of Elika is great for both the story and the gameplay. I agree with the rating of 8/10, it is short, rent or borrow it if you cant get it cheap, but it's an amzing game that boldly strays from it's predecesors, but in all the right ways.

I have been continously disappointed in Price of Persia games. To me the best was the first one and each one has gotten progressively worse. The ability to control time was what I liked best. It would have been better if Ubisoft had remade the first game with Nex Gen graphics. I was also disappointed with the achievment icons. They all look the same.
