Visual improvements and new content for revamp of 1989 classic

Jordan Mechner's original Prince of Persia game which released in 1989 is being revamped and released on Xbox Live Arcade, thanks to Ubisoft.

The revamp is being developed by Gameloft, which is giving the old game a serious lick o' the visual paint brush in addition to introducing new traps, puzzles and enemies. Obviously the sword fighting, platform action remains intact.

New character designs, animations, visuals and lighting effects give the game "a close to 3D look" Ubisoft's said. We're awaiting high-resolution screenshots from the publisher.

Prince of Persia Classic should be with us this summer.
