How can a mysteriously cryptic countdown site get even more cryptic? Well, it can eventually lead to a picture of Daniel Day-Lewis. Or, it can be discovered before the cryptic marketing campaign even begins. What an enigma! That's exactly the case with whatever "Prince of Persia Prodigy" is. First, the phrase was trademarked by series creator Jordan Mechner, now the domain (www.princeofpersiaprodigy.com) has been registered by Ubisoft.

Ubisoft's remake of the classic Prince of Persia jumps onto the Xbox 360 with a next-gen sheen.In the game players take on the role of the prince and embark on a mission to rescue the princess before she is forced to marry the wicket Jaffar - you have only 60 minutes to do it. The remake retains the side-scrolling gameplay, complete with all the platform jumping, traps and potion collecting, but also adds new traps, puzzles and enemies.

Three game modes are available: Normal Mode saves at the end of each level and gives the player unlimited time to save the princess, Time Attack Mode sets a 60 minute time limit, and Survival Mode sets a 60 minute limit and only a single life.

Ubisoft has told us that Gameloft's gorgeous remix of the original Prince of Persia will be arriving on Xbox Live Arcade next week. As the courageous Prince, Classic gives you 60 minutes to save a random Persian Princess from her deadly fate. Ubisoft has confirmed to Eurogamer that Prince of Persia Classic will be next Wednesday's Live Arcade download.

"It is on the 13th, on Xbox Live Arcade," a Ubisoft spokesperson told us.

Jordan Mechner's original Prince of Persia game which released in 1989 is being revamped and released on Xbox Live Arcade, thanks to Ubisoft.
