360 News from N4G | Halo 3
360 - Halo 3 - Porn and Halo 3 file sharing Destructoid writes: "The depth of depravity on the Internet rarely surprises me anymore. What does surprise me is when vice slips through a seemingly secure system. Today, HushedCasket stumbled upon something particularly odd on Halo 3's file sharing system. It was an image of several topless women, instead of the typical Halo 3 picture.

The racy picture was uncovered while a user was browsing his recent players and subsequently their shared photos. The offender's profile and the picture can be found here for those so inclined to see it. The image is at the bottom of the menu, and is obviously not safe for work or minors.

My first question is, how does one circumvent the system and place this picture into the system? Secondly, is this practice very widespread? I imagine that Bungie will squash this as soon as they realize that people are abusing the system in this way, but this is certainly very odd. Have you guys seen anything like this before while playing Halo 3?"

360 News from N4G | NASCAR 09
360 - NASCAR 09 - Goshdangit! My NASCAR 09 Gamesave Done Blowed Up! Kotaku writes: What is going on at EA Sports? First came the manifold glitches and problems in NCAA 09, now we're seeing accounts of corrupt profiles forcing Xbox 360 racers to ditch their gamesaves and start all over.

After reaching a certain level of progress - the theory is cumulative laps driven, as it's struck gamers at differing points in their careers - the profile becomes corrupted and freezes the game right at the load screen. There is no other way to play the game except to delete the file and start all over. You can see a video of it here - but it takes 7 minutes to explain what was just said above. There is, however, a swell parakeet whistling in the background.

Of course, using a memory stick and disabling auto-save is one workaround. That doesn't help anyone who had no idea he'd bought a defective game and finds out about this after putting 20 or 30 hours worth of effort into it.

Reader S.H. (who tipped this bug to kotaku) says EA Sports is not responding to forum posts, emails or any calls for help (which the video helpfully points out). No wonder they're putting Peter Moore's face into a boxing game. That'll probably crash, too.

Seriously, EA Sports, why is it amateur hour all of a sudden? What the f**k is the matter with you people?

360 - Mercenaries 2: World in Flames - E3 2008: Mercenaries 2 Lets You Blow Up In-Game Ads For Fun, Profit Sean Hollister from GameCyte writes: Over three years in the making, and with just a single month before its commercial debut on August 31st, we thought we'd heard everything there was to hear about Mercenaries 2: World in Flames. The game's huge. It has online co-op. You can blow $#!^ up. But while exploring Pandemic Studios' next-gen playground of destruction at E3 2008, we noticed something new: lots and lots of billboards, with the word "Massive" embedded in placeholder text near the bottom of each.

360 News from N4G | Alan Wake
360 - Alan Wake - Remedy responds to TGS 2008 showing rumours Recently an old promotion resurfaced and was posted on major gaming sites and blogs and caused quite a stir due to a comment in the promotion which many people confused as confirmation that Alan Wake will be shown at the 2008 Tokyo Game Show.

Markus Maki, Director of Development at Remedy Games, squashed this rumour:

"The Microsoft Vista promotion referring to TGS took place in 2007, and is old news - we've had the winner over for taking the pictures already.

Sorry for the confusion and possible disappointment, but this was not an annoucement that Wake would be shown at TGS 2008. Remedy's team is just getting back from a bit of holiday and we haven't had time to chat with Microsoft on upcoming shows/showings yet."

360 News from N4G | Too Human
360 - Too Human - Too Human Reclassified MA 15+ To M, PC Version Hinted At? Kotaku writes: "The OFLC's classification database is packed full of surprises, both sad and delightful. The most recent of these was not one, but two ratings for Silicon Knights' Too Human. Why would a game get two (or more) ratings? Most of the time it's because a game is released on multiple platforms, but not simultaneously, so the later release has to be classified separately.

However, this is not the case for the Xbox 360-only Too Human.

1) Australia has the same version of Too Human as everyone else;
2) The OFLC classified two versions of the game, with the M-rated one sent to retail and;
3) Both entries are marked "Multi Platform". Does this mean a PC version is on the way?"
