Kotaku: "Capcom's Street Fighter IV blog updated with news that the consumer console version of SFIV will be showing at the Leipzig Games Convention. This will be the first time that it has been shown publicly."
More than a decade after the arcade version of Street Fighter III first started chokin' down tokens, the fourth proper installment in Capcom's classic brawling franchise has reportedly arrived on US shores. As pointed out by SDTekken, a Tekken fan site for San Diego-based players, Street Fighter IV is available for play at Super Arcade in Walnut, a Los Angeles suburb.
While the fourth version, Street Fighter IV, has only just landed in the land of the Rising Sun, and that version does emerge at home until this winter. The producer of Street Fighter IV, Yoshinori Ono, already mentioned the next episode of the series in a brief interview.
Kotaku:
Earlier today, Street Fighter IV Producer Yoshinori Ono confirmed that Street Fighter IV will not have console-specific characters.
DarkZero: Capcom recently ran a poll asking fans what character they'd like to see appear in Street Fighter IV. The list contained many characters from the older games, such as Hugo, Dee Jay, Fei Long, T. Hawk and Dan.
UK, July 23, 2008 - Street Fighter IV will be making its first public appearance in the UK, with six arcade cabinets available to play at this weekends Battle of Destiny tournament in London.
Destructiod reports: On the official Japanese Web site for Street Fighter IV, the move lists for Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, and Guile were released today. There's not too much here that's unexpected, but it's worth checking out anyway. You might want to print this out if you're headed to Comic-Con.
Kotaku writes: "Starting July 18th, Street Fighter IV will be playable in Japanese arcades. To save your arcade achievements, the game will use Taito's NESYS Card System. (Makes sense as the game runs on the Taito Type X2 arcade system board!) The NESYS Card will come in four patterns, all of which are pictured. This saved player data contains the player name that appears on-screen in versus mode. The player data can also be accessed individual cell phone SFIV player webpages, which feature stats and ranking as well as news about SFIV events. Via the cell phone site, it's possible to create and name SFIV guilds. Players can then collect "guild points" and compete with other SFIV guilds to improve their ranking to boot!"
