Square Enix has released in the Famitsu magazine some very nice screenshots and arts of its upcoming big RPG named The Last Remnant for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Scheduled (on Xbox 360) for November 20 worldwide, the game will be playable in a couple of weeks during Tokyo Game Show 2008.
Square Enix said Star Ocean 4: The Last Hope and the Last Remnant would be at Tokyo Game Show, but in what form? The ambiguous presence might be accredited to where both games are going to be found. Inside the press release announcing Infinite Undiscovery's release in Japan, Microsoft said playable builds of Star Ocean 4: The Last Hope and the Last Remnant will be inside Microsoft's booth.
PS3Fanboy: "Some of you may have read (and even tipped us off) about reports stating that The Last Remnant for PS3 would be released alongside the 360 version this November. However, and unfortunately, this statement is false. Famitsu, the origin of the mistaken release date has issued a correction (via IGN)."
TalkPlayStation.com writes:"The Last Remnant official website opens on the 18th of August 2008. Currently a timed Xbox 360 exclusive, it will eventually come to the Playstation 3. Check back to the website in 7 days."
The Last Remnant's official website has been updated with an official blog where you can find four wallpapers.
A new character was revealed in The Last Remnant: Jager.
Square Enix has gone PC. On the first day of the show, the Japanese game publisher announced that Final Fantasy XIII is coming to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 (in Europe and North America only) and PC. During a press conference following the Microsoft event, Final Fantasy XIII Producer Yoshinori Kitase discussed the new development strategy that Square Enix has taken with its upcoming games.
PS3 Fanboy: "The official site of the The Last Remnant is now online. There's a trailer, a prologue, information on the battle system, 4 characters with voices and 12 screenshots. You can even choose between three different songs as your background music. The game prologue mentions Remnants as ancient artifacts of awesome power but unknown origins, and that mankind's usage of them has caused "a rift in the world's balance." Isn't there always a rift in the world's balance in every Square game?"
