A spokesperson for Ubisoft has confirmed this morning that yesterday's release schedule was incorrect. Haze is still to be confirmed for PC and Xbox 360, apparently, so the 30th November date now slips into the realms of TBA. The exclusive PS3 date remains the same.
Ubisoft has gone into a frenzy of organisation and stamped release dates on all of its key upcoming titles...
"There are some shooters that will bring in a war veteran to check and see whether their game is enough like that time all their friends got killed, so they can sell it as entertainment. Which is pretty f***ing bizarre!" Yescombe told Eurogamer during one of his Haze presentations at UbiDays last month.
Gameplayer argues the commercial merits of PS3 exclusivity for Haze and how such a ploy could blow up in Ubisoft's face.
Premiered at last years' E3, Free Radical's Haze caused quite a bit of buzz at the event. Coming from a developer with a rich FPS pedigree, with such games as GoldenEye, TimeSplitters and Second Sight on their resume, and originally billed as a squad-based first-person shooter, everything about Haze went silent after last year's big show. That is until just a few weeks ago, when Ubisoft held its perennial pre-E3 event, dubbed UbiDays.
