The special Xbox 360 version of the most popular games magazine in Japan has just hit store shelves and its always interesting to look at the review scores. In the latest issue, Xbox 360 cracker Lost Odyssey was reviewed for the first time, and rewarded with 9/8/8/8 which brings its total to 33/40 which equals 8.25/10. A departure from the action real-time strategy formula seen in previous Kingdom Under Fire games, Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom is an action-packed role playing game (RPG) that makes full use of the Xbox 360 processing power to create a revolutionary gaming experience. Players will explore vast and randomly generated maps while battling bloodthirsty monsters attacking from all directions. As the game progresses, the six heroes will find increasingly advanced and spectacular ways to defeat enemies using new weapons and abilities as they progress through six varied acts. Players will also be able to interact with one another with a full multiplayer experience and up to four-player co-op on Xbox LIVE Gold.

In Seoul for the Gstar 2007 international game expo, Gamasutra has learned that Kingdom Under Fire developer Blueside is working on three new projects: one project for Live Arcade, one for an unnamed handheld, and one large-scale project more along the lines of the company's traditional work, which also includes the Q Entertainment-produced Ninety Nine Nights.

"One thing I can tell you," embellished Dee Lee, head of Blueside division 2 and manager of production and business development, "is that we're going multi-platform with Circle of Doom, so that users can play against each other on Games for Windows Live. So we're trying to diversify our platforms. And we do also have plan to make tiny games. Live Arcade is one thing, and that handheld gameÂ¿"

Phantamgram Entertainment's Ninety-Nine Nights, despite the collaboration with Tetsuya Mizuguchi and his music group at Q Entertainment, wasn't received well as Xbox 360's first-party answer to Dynasty Warriors. The company's not giving up on the genre, however, having enlisted BLUESIDE, a studio comprised of "core members" from the original KUF team, for another sequel.

Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom will actually ditch the strategy elements of the previous games, in favor of a strictly action RPG approach. Additionally, BLUESIDE promises randomly generated landscapes and dungeons and a storyline that link Circle of Doom to the previous KUF games. The game's lineup of heroes is comprised of characters from the series.
