VG247: Ubisoft's confirmed that Far Cry 2 will be shown live on the Ubidays press conference webcast on May 28 at 6pm BST.
We're getting a sneak glimpse of Far Cry 2 gameplay in a new little video that re-confirms the sequel is now due out autumn. It's only a brief snippet, revealing action in Africa, but as it's new footage it's worth a watch. The sequel features a 50sq/km open world and drops the player in the middle of a failed African state, still in chaos after a recent conflict. You've been sent there to take out a weapons dealer who is arming both sides ...

Far Cry 2 is set to release this autumn, says Ubisoft. Originally the publisher had pegged the PC version for spring, but changed the date to a very general April '08-March '09 when PS3 and Xbox 360 versions were confirmed. But we've narrowed that down a bit. Far Cry 2's not only technically ambitious on a graphical level but also in the way the storyline is being presented. Creative director Clint Hocking explains: "The game's story is non-linear, ...

Far Cry 2 was on show for the select few at Play.com. A full preview will be on its way, but before that the game's narrative designer, Patrick Redding, let us know when we can get our dirty little mits on it.
Nidzumi Writes : We got a chance to talk to a few of the developers who are working on FarCry 2 at the recent play.com Live event and after getting a walk through of a level in the single player campaign we had a few questions about the games multi player.
PSU Writes:
IGN writes: "According to narrative designer Patrick Redding, gameplay revolves around a player walking into towns or environmental spaces and playing two factions against each other. As the 50 square kilometer world is explored, you'll wind up taking on missions for each faction, killing NPCs, and generally affecting the game world, all of which impacts your infamy rating."
During a lecture on narrative design today, Ubisoft Montreal's Patrick Redding revealed that Far Cry 2's health system is tied to infection. Upon arriving in the game's fictitious African country, the player's character -- the strong, silent type -- is immediately stricken with malaria.
You knew it was coming; the first trailer for Uwe Boll's doomed-to-be-cheesy Far Cry movie has been released into the wild, and we don't mind saying it looks pretty bad. "Far Cry 2 is an upcoming first person shooter that will be put out by Ubisoft on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC next month.
Sony's complex PS3 hardware is a 'nice fit' for Ubisoft's ambitious Far Cry 2 - but developers Ubisoft Montreal admit that compromises have been made. "We were somewhat worried by some of the reported high complexity of developing for the PS3", reveals Tech Director Dominic Guay, "but the raw processing power is impressive".
Ripten:
There have been some incorrect reports around the web that Far Cry 2 will have mutant enemies or that your character will have some kind of mutation, and that Far Cry 2 is now PlayStation 3 exclusive.
Ubisoft has confirmed to VideoGamer.com that upcoming FPS Far Cry 2 will not be a PS3 console exclusive, as previously rumoured.
What better time of year than to reveal a horde of rumors? This latest batch has been circulating through a number of sources online, and while not a one can be considered truth, all can be considered intriguing.
Far Cry 2 is looking fantastic, and was due out in April for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
