360 - Fable II - Molyneux: No announcement on Fable 2 PC 'just yet' Lionhead boss and Fable II creator Peter Molyneux has refused to confirm whether a PC version of the hotly anticipated Xbox 360 exclusive RPG will be coming out.

He told VideoGamer.com: "If you recall we didn't release a PC version of Fable immediately. I don't think we even announced it immediately. There's no announcement either positive or negative on a PC version just yet."

When asked if it might be the case that a PC version will turn up later, Molyneux replied: "You see you said all the maybes and mights there, I'll leave that with you! But these are the sorts of things as you can imagine I get into an enormous amount of trouble for. I have to be very careful!"

360 - Fable II - Xbox 360's AAA Lineup to Hit India First, 360 Slim Unofficially Announced, Then Officially Labeled Speculation, and I Win for Longest Title Ever The Xbox 360's big hitters this Fall, namely Fable 2, Fallout 3, and Gears of War 2, are actually set to release in India a full week prior to the official worldwide release dates. Apparently, this is Microsoft's way of saying "thanks" to its customer service department.

Interestingly enough, Microsoft India's Retail Services Manager, Rahul Datta, also apparently let slip that the oft-rumored Xbox 360 Slim was, in fact, a reality and that an announcement would be made soon. This, of course, led the Microsoft hired goons to stab him in the throat and claim his words were minced.

360 - Fable II - Molyneux: 'Fable 2 co-op only possible because of LIVE' The co-op features in upcoming Xbox 360 exclusive RPG Fable II are only possible because of the way Xbox LIVE is structured, Lionhead boss Peter Molyneux has told VideoGamer.com.

When asked if he has ever fancied making a game for the PS3, Molyneux replied: "I um and ah because, OK, it's a quite sophisticated piece of tech. These days I don't get involved so much with shaders and the actual 3D design any more, the actual programming. It looks very complex. The 360 and the PS3 technically seem neck and neck. Sometimes I look at a title on the 360 it looks fantastic, sometimes I look at a title on PS3 and it looks fantastic. I can't see a difference.

"What I would say, and this is not just me being the good company man, I'd say the thing I love about the 360 more than anything is nothing to do with the hardware, it's all to do with LIVE. LIVE is still underexploited for a game mechanic. Some of the stuff in Fable II we're doing with co-op is only possible because of the way that LIVE is structured. I love playing around with that stuff as a designer. Whereas PS3 doesn't seem to be quite so mature on that side. They haven't got quite the same infrastructure and service but, you know, yeah, I'd love to get games on every platform."

360 - Fable II - Molyneux: 'Fable 2 dog can't fart at supersonic speeds' Fable II developer Peter Molyneux has moved to clarify comments made in a recent interview with CVG that suggested the much heralded dog companion "can be a bit fractured sometimes".

"I was probably talking about a build we had that wasn't completely finished. What I think I meant by that, and it's hard to remember, is that sometimes, when he was in development, and he doesn't do that now, but sometimes he could get slightly psychotic, shall I say? There was one time we had a bug and he would just be obsessed with anything that was evil and would literally follow evil people around the world to the ends of the earth. Obviously that's not what the dog's designed to do. Now I look at him in the current build and I think he's pretty amazing," Molyneux told VideoGamer.com

"The only thing I would say about the dog is don't expect too much," he said. "What I mean by that is he's just a dog, man! He's not going to wag his tail at 300 miles per hour and fly through the air and save you from the dragon of doom, no that there is a dragon of doom. He's not going to be able to fart at supersonic speed. He's just a dog."

360 - Fable II - Fable II: Make Cash While Not Playing Most RPGs make you ask the ask the same question: what was that giant rat doing with a sack of gold coins? Fable II has gone the more realistic route: you'll have to work for your money. There are some mini-games that simulate trades like blacksmithing, but one of the options is to invest.

Presumably you'll be able to rent out homes just as you did in the original Fable, but in the sequel you can invest in shops. Luckily they're not going the truly realistic route: you won't have to stop by the shop to pick up your profits, nor will you have to break someone's thumbs if they can't pay. As you're off slaying Hobbes or robbing innocent merchants, the cash will roll in every five minutes of real world time.

If you find yourself unable to play for a while there's an odd side benefit: the cash will keep rolling in even when you're not venturing through the world of Albion. Even when your Xbox is turned off, you'll accumulate the same amount of profit every five minutes.

360 - Fable II - Molyneux: 'FFVII, that to me defined the genre' Speaking to VideoGamer.com earlier this week, Lionhead founder Peter Molyneux has revealed that he considers Square's Final Fantasy VII to be the game that defined the RPG genre.

"I always remember back to Final Fantasy VII, when I first played FFVII, that to me defined the genre," he said when talking about the PS3 and if it has had any defining titles. "Those were the 'oh my god' moments, I don't believe they exist. I haven't seen many of those on the PS3."

360 - Fable II - Molyneux: 'Fable II has gone gold!' VideoGamer.com has just got off the phone with Peter Molyneux, who told them that the hotly anticipated upcoming Xbox 360 exclusive, out on October 24, went gold as of 7pm last night, and has been released for manufacturing.

And now, in celebration of that fact, the Fable II development team is tonight heading straight to the pub.

When asked if Fable 2 was finished Molyneux said: "It is as of 7pm last night. We are now officially gold. It's released to manufacturing. Fable is absolutely finished and done and dusted.

"There's a lot of people here who are going to want to celebrate. And I'll be honest with you, the reason I have to go at six is because we're all off down the pub."
