360 - Burnout Paradise - Paradise City Is Larger Than Expected Kotaku reports:

"Here's a map of Paradise City for the upcoming Burnout Paradise. If you've played the demo, you'll recognize that tiny portion near the beach. It's the demo area. You'll also now realize that the final map is enormous. If you haven't played the demo, the same basic point applies: this map is freakin' huge.

360 News from N4G | Burnout Paradise
360 - Burnout Paradise - Guns N Roses Rocks Burnout Paradise City, Mozart Makes Surprise Appearance In a case of getting things just right, EA announced this morning to MTV Multiplayer and GameTrailers that the soundtrack for next month's Burnout Paradise will feature Guns N Roses' 1987 "grass is green" and "girls are pretty" anthem Paradise City.

Slash and Axl aren't alone, of course. EA provided Multiplayer a first look at the games' 40-song rock-heavy play-list, which includes Alice in Chains, Twisted Sister and more.

But there are actually more than 40 songs, and more than just rockers on the roster. The game includes music from Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Boccherini and other classical composers. Has the crash-crazy Burnout series gone soft? The classical music tracks start playing when the player lets their Burnout car idle for several seconds. The game switches to a screensaver mode. The game's rich color palette dampens to black and white, the camera starts moving on its own, away from the player's idling car. And the classics play. Burnout has never been quite so civilized.

14th Dec, 2007 We took both versions of Burnout Paradise for a joyride around the city today to give them a proper comparison side by side. Being the generous souls that we are, we naturally recorded our games so that you guys could share in our findings. Both games look brilliant. It would take a black hearted swine indeed to deny that. But we can't help feeling that while the Xbox 360 version is perhaps slightly more vibrant, the PS3 edition takes the lead in in terms of looking noticably a ... » Read More

360 News from N4G | Burnout Paradise
360 - Burnout Paradise - Burnout Paradise demo: PS3 version shinier, Xbox 360 has rumble GamePro's Blake Snow writes about the release of the Burnout Paradise demo on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360:

Available now at the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace, the Paradise demo features three playable levels including three-person online play.

We downloaded and compared both versions side-by-side this afternoon, and after a cursory inspection, here's what we know. The PS3 version looks shinier. The Xbox 360 version has rumble. So its pretty much a wash.

More impressive, however, is the games fresh take on the genre. There are no game menus; a voice tutorial helpfully leads the way. It can take a while to get your bearings before running jumps, turning tricks, and winning races, but Paradise show promise in one of the meatiest demos released this year.

360 News | Burnout Paradise
Played the Burnout Paradise demo yet? Stupidly good, isn't it? Since we got hold of the Xbox Live preview we've been having an almost illegally good time discovering the new delights of Paradise City. It's been a non-stop orgy of melting tarmac, leaping off carpark roofs, barrell-rolling across beaches and handbrake turning into parking spaces at 100 miles per hour. What's got us extra excited about the demo though is something entirely unrelated to Burnout. While it was great to discover that ... » Read More
