The content that stands out the most is Xbox Live Arcade title: Battlefield 1943 which has released today along with some Band of Bugs downloadable content. Fight With Your 360 Avatar (News)

BeefJack writes: "From next Wednesday July 8th, your Xbox 360 avatar will be able to fight for you.

That's assuming you have the XBLA game Band of Bugs, and get the new mode that will be released for it called Spider Hunter, and you will also be able to use said Avatar in the single player mode, replacing main character Maal. The download will be free, which is always a bonus, and will let you cast fireballs and spells with your avatar."

Nintendo, which has been historically criticised for not providing enough software for its platforms, emerges as the clear winner this week Â¿ at least in terms of quantity.

Specficially, American gamers get to choose between eight DS titles over the next five days, including the likes of Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2008 and Pocket Pets. Also, a quintet of Wii releases are available through Friday, which includes the towering arrival of Godzilla Unleashed and Myth Makers: Super Kart GP.

NinjaBee, announced a new expansion pack, Red Kingdom, for Band of Bugs on Xbox LIVE Arcade. The new expansion pack comes with two new troop types - artillery and cavalry and more content for the level editor, leading to Ninja Bee's own "Design a Level Contest." the expansion also brings with it new areas to explore, characters, special powers, level caps and best of all achievements.
