Nour Polloni, Producer of Eden Games, answers the questions about Alone In The Dark 5 submitted on official Atari forum.
Eden Games hopes to get straight on with another Alone in the Dark game once the current one ships, according to producer Nour Polloni.
The French Newspaper Les Echos has an exclusive interview with Patrick Lelue where they talk about Alone in the Dark which is set to be released on the Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii and PS2. In this interview Lelue reveals that Alone in the Dark will be released in May, giving it a different release date shown on Nintendo's recent American release date list.
In a short statement to Total Video Games on January 11, an Atari UK spokesperson denied the reports that Alone In The Dark had been delayed to September, and dismissed them as 'rumours'.
Sure, you know Alone in the Dark 5 is coming. You also probably know that, while the protagonist's name is Edward Carnaby, he has absolutely nothing in common with the original, more dapper Carnaby of the first game. But what else do you know about the game? Not much, I'll tell you, because for a game that was supposed to be coming in March (itself a delay from a 2007 release), we've not heard much new info for a while. So don't act too surprised, then, at news it's been delayed for a second time, this time to September. Bummer.
What was once a teaser web site for Atari's horror title Alone in the Dark has now been updated with additional media and info, giving us a better idea of what to expect from the game. Atari has just started its viral marketing campaign for Alone in the Dark as the mysterious website www.centraldark.com was launched. Atari sent out a press release with nothing more than this link. On the website, you can view a trailer which tells the story of what mystery lies under the ground of Central Park in New York. Beneath the trailer, however, there is a countdown which reaches zero on December 13.
PS2 and Wii have joined the platforms (PC, Xbox 360 and PS3) set to receive the new Alone in the Dark game from Atari.
The Xbox 360 and PC versions are still on schedule to arrive before the end of the publisher's fiscal year in March 2008. However, the PS3 game will follow later on a date yet to be announced.
Joystiq says despite what Atari originally said, the hardly ever seen Alone in the Dark has been pushed off in fiscal year 2008, which for Atari ends March 31. Guess Atari is going to hinge their fiscal salvation on the sure to be über-mega-successful Atari Classics Evolved.
A release schedule came out of Atari this morning with a couple of key games confirmed for 2007 releases, predominantly Alone in the Dark, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and Turning Point: Fall of Liberty.
New York Times best-selling author Lorenzo Carcaterra has teamed up with Atari to become the script writer for Alone in the Dark.
Despite of messages saying Alone in the Dark not coming out until 2008, Atari today made an end of this rumors. The game is now officially scheduled for Q4 2007, meaning the game has some delay from the original date, but it is still scheduled for this year on all platforms.
Atari today announced their new releasedates for december 2006 and 2007. Most interesting is probably Alone in the Dark 4, the game is coming for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and good old Playstation 2 in March 2007.
