What is Nintendo announcing September 13?

Nintendo has sent out invites to an event for September 13 that's being held in New York City. On the surface it sounds like another chance for lucky industry insiders to play Wii U games early, but the timing points to something more. Wii U is supposedly coming out this year, but we still know so little about it. If the system will actually be on sale this holiday season, consumers will need some concrete details. Will Nintendo finally share its Wii U secrets with the public?

More importantly, what do you think Nintendo will announce next month in NYC? Let us know in this handy poll and explain your reasoning in the comments!

Is this a bot advertising by mentioning how they saw a bot advertising? Interesting... Now we just need a bot to respond saying they started advertising after seeing this bot. Then things would get really meta. :/

is September 13 a Friday? because that could make a huge difference as to how things turn out

I think they will release launch lineup and price.

I don't think Nintendo would have an event for a delay, so a release date with a comfortable price(300$) would seem a lot more likely.

Unless they plan on releasing news that they are moving their games exclusively to Iphone/Ipad it is completely useless. Shame, I used to respect Nintendo. But turning a blind eye to the more obvious and successful gaming platform is pretty much unforgivable..

Wow... another Iphone troll. May I introduce you to tehtimeisnow? I think you guys could be best friends with your similar interests, despite your contrasting styles of preaching.

I applaud you for actually replying to people (unlike a certain other troll), albiet your response is the same every time. I'm typing this response on a MacBook FYI, and I don't plan on checking that link.

Psst, he's not, he's apparently copying and pasting the same comments and replacing the name of Dev, like that other guy before him, ignoring him is the best option

Yeah, I realized that while I was typing the last comment (I mentioned that in the comment). I'll be honest, it can be hard to ignore certain people since I want to say some smart-alec response although I know I shouldn't. Although, didn't I say the same thing to you i a different article?
  • shawksta - August 24, 2012 2:11 a.m.

You did but then i noticed he copied and pasted the same thing to both of us so i wrote hesitatedly I know how you feel, you just WANT to, but nothing happens, at best we should try to resist

I'm sorry lads. Just wanted to try out this trolling thing. I just didn't understand the allure so I experimented. the copy and paste thing was to see how long it would take for people to realize I was doing it. (2 weeks)Hell I even argued with myself using my real account. just for a laugh.. You caught me! Trolling is a bit of harmless fun. I'm a dedicated game who is actually a proud android user, I apologize for wasting your time..

Experiments are interesting, if anything, it teaches others to learn to ignore trolls.

I know that the 13th is Mario's "birthday." I only know that because it's mine as well. So it could be something Mario-related.
  • samsneeze - August 23, 2012 5:36 a.m.

I swear if they release/announce another Mario game in favor of doing something smart, I'm going to completely disown Nintendo. Because Nintendo is fucking stupid. I stand by my earlier point of Mario sells well because it's the only thing they ever focus on and treat everything else like the bastard child that lives in the basement.
  • shawksta - August 23, 2012 3:16 p.m.

Nah, Mario just had his 25th and they never did anything special beyond special years. Besides,Mario had the spotlight, now it's time for mutha f*cking weegee, and Mario's Paper-styled self

Your trolling gets 2/10, try harder next time.
