Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception is epic,
ergo listening to its soundtrack should - in theory - increase one's
real life epicness by roughly 300%. Maybe. To be honest, we're still
working out the nitty gritty science of it all, but for those who
wish to experiment for themselves, Sony has just released the entire
Uncharted 3 soundtrack on the PlayStation Store.
The
album is currently selling for $9.99, and is also available for
download on iTunes. It features the original score for Naughty Dog's sequel created by Greg Edmonson, a
TV and film composer who won the award for Best
Original Music from the Academy of Interactive Arts &
Sciences and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. His work has also appeared on shows like
Quantum Leap, King of the Hill, and–-more recently--Firefly.
A
2-CD Limited Edition with liner notes by film music writer Daniel
Schweiger and Edmonson himself can also be ordered at La-La Land Records.
“Greg
has always approached Uncharted with a mature sensibility,” said
Amy Hennig, Creative Director at Naughty Dog in La-La Land's press
release, “He's continued to help give Uncharted its identity with
the kind of instrumental combinations that say, 'This is different.
Listen.'"
Added
Edmonson: “Everyone at Sony and Naughty Dog has made Uncharted a
compelling, fun, and well-researched journey to be on. I’m thrilled to be given that opportunity again with
Drake’s Deception.”
Physical
copies of the soundtrack can also be picked up online from Amazon,
Best Buy, and GameStop starting November 15. Digital versions of the Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
soundtracks are also on sale in the PS store for $5.99 a piece.
