Sin City looks more like XIII, The Lion King I played(On Sega), I played most if not all of Disney's movie tie ins, not all of them were from Virgin tho. Capcom did Aladdin, Hell I played all of Capcom's Disney games too, still have quite a few of them in my collection. Full Metal Jacket doesn't exist, that's most likely Platoon, and that is one incredibly hard game. Knowing where to go requires you draw a map as you wander through the jungle to find key items

Way too convincing considering I read this two days after April 1st. Figured something was up once Citizen Kane was carrying around Indy's inventory from "Fate of Atlantis."

Full Metal Jacket had me thinking of Platoon and Rambo, both of which were pretty decent NES games. The mention of first person elements brought up scenes from Golgo-13 in my head. Hmm...I think I needs some 8-bit love today!

I played Lion king on my SEGA.
  • KnightDehumidifier - April 2, 2013 3:52 p.m. My Dinner With Andre: The Arcade Game. Extremely detailed with multiple choices which decides the fate of which the dinner will conclude. Although when Konami decided to bring it to the consoles, it lost a lot of luster. The X68000 version is arguably the most superior, as you are given a fourth discussion option as well as another drink option. If you settle for the NES version of course, the most common one, disappointment is bound.

Wow, an April Fools joke that actually fooled me for a moment.
  • DirkSteele1 - April 2, 2013 8:44 a.m.

Surely the first clue this was an April Fool was the statement "when movie tie-ins were as good, if not better than the average original IP." Speaking as someone who started out in the 8-bit era, the rule of thumb with movie tie-in games was handle with extreme care and expect the worst. Not to say there were not shinning lights, and certainly Virgin were on a great roll in the mid-90s. The Lion King was excellent.

They were seriously making a Taxi Driver game. Seriously.
  • LEGOMatrix - April 2, 2013 8:29 a.m.

What a convincingly written article! Perfectly played... Kudos!
  • sandplasma - April 2, 2013 6:32 a.m.

I still remember playing the Lion King on my Sega Genesis. I remember that first line in the game, it was so awesome, no other game had such an impact in the beginning. "It Starts."
  • Rhymenocerous - April 2, 2013 8:31 a.m.

    "The King, is dead..."
  • PatHan-bHai - April 2, 2013 5:55 a.m.

:3 LoL!! GR keep up the Fool's wor!
  • taokaka - April 1, 2013 7:11 p.m.

Damn you! I was fooled up until citizen cane because of the lion king game. I feel even more fooled because I went in expecting an april fools.
  • interasteral7 - April 1, 2013 6:29 p.m.

Good April Fool's prank Gamesradar. Some of these video games metioned are real while others do not exist. I have seen a fair amount of good movie tie-ins with video games, but there are only some good video game tie-ins with movies.

Alright, this is my favorite Top 7 since the Top 7 Top 7s.
  • Ronnie-_- - April 1, 2013 4:16 p.m.

    Well played.
  • awesomesauce - April 1, 2013 3:52 p.m.

I never played those original games so i believed every word you said. And the worst part is you didn't even say "April Fools" at the end so i just took the misguided information. If it wasn't for the comments i would looked like a dumbass wondering why i never heard of those games.
  • zymn - April 1, 2013 1:43 p.m.

The Sin City one I started getting confused on. I was like "Wait, what? They juse ripped off Killer 7 or XIII?" Then I got to the Mars Attacks one and thought "Those aliens are way too high poly to be in an N64 game." then I got to the Citizen Kane one and was just like... "Now that just looks like bullshit." Then I read the comments. Oh new GR how you sometimes surprise me.
  • PlainLikeVanilla - April 1, 2013 1:36 p.m.
