Princess Peach is a minority leading a majority. Saddam Hussein was the same thing, and he ended up getting hanged by his people.

Great, great piece. Really enjoyed it.

I think Wario is Mario from a future in which he went insane. This is based on nothing, of course, but it's fun to think about.

    Yeah, Mario hit that.

To answer some of your questions, the Mairo Bros.'s last name is Mario, humans arrived in the Mushroom Kingdom via hidden underground portals that happen to be connected to modern sewer pipes. Mario and Luigi found the Mushroom Kingdom at the end of Wrecking Crew while exploring some old pipes while doing some underground demolition. Wrecking Crew is the prequel to Mario Bros. Rainbow Road is an indoor virtual reality race track. There are good Koopas and Goombas as seen in the RPG series. Wario is Mario's evil twin from a different dimension. Waluigi is Luigi's evil twin from the same dimension as Wario. Toads wear hats are considered the true Mushroom people. They are a group of dwarf-like mushroom growers. Princess Peach is the descendant of a human who long ago rescued the Mushroom people from some harm and became famous like The Wizard from the Wizard of Oz.

"That'd be like electing a dolphin as Supreme Leader of the World." Oh, I can see it now...

Too bad when that happens they'll probably take all the fish and then leave us in our greatest time of need.

i'll help with the coin problem. coins might indeed be near worthless due to their respawning nature. maybe life has a much lower value there than it does here. everbody comes with more than 1, 3 lives most of the time. add that to the fact that there are many other ways of obtaining lives to get the end result. life is near worthless in the mushroom kingdom.

I think, and this is going way back, that in SML2's manual it talks about Wario being extremely envious of Mario's fame/success/etc, and wanting that for himself...so yes, he started out as a really creepy stalker.

"Are there good Goombas and Koopas, or are they all inherently evil?" This was answered in the Mario RPG's. So yes, yes there are. The last name thing is still a bit of a sore spot for me. I remember as a kid Nintendo Power boasting about how you would find out all of Mario's secrets if you subscribed to NP and received their Mario guide. They never fucking fulfilled their promises. I don't count the "Mario Mario" thing from the movie because that movie was bullshit.

But it didn't originate in the movie; at the very least, it goes back to the Super Show.

Depending on whether or not you consider information about Mario from the Super Mario Bros Movie to be valid or not Mario and Luigi's last name is in fact Mario. Mario Mario and Luigi Mario. That film was hardly based on the game franchise though so, yeah.
  • SirManguydude - February 27, 2013 2:51 p.m.

They are the Mario Bros. after all. I think it would be weird to be called such a title solely based on the Oldest Brother's Name. Also, it has been shown that the mushroom caps on the Toads are just hats.
  • LBD_Nytetrayn - February 27, 2013 4:42 p.m.

As noted above, it didn't even originate in the movie. The last names were used in the Super Show, too, which predated the movie by a few years.

Can't tell you how much coins are worth in US, but it holds up as nothing against those BeanBean coins
  • LBD_Nytetrayn - February 27, 2013 4:42 p.m.

    Too true.
