The first footage of Star Wars: The Last Jedi shows Rey training, and viewers are pumped

Attendees of CinemaCon 2017 were treated to something really special this week: the first footage of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. And while the rest of us schlubs won't get to see it for awhile longer - *shakes fist* - we can still enjoy the descriptions of what viewers saw.

The clip was apparently very short, slotted into a sizzle reel showing off many other films. But in that brief window, fans described what sounds like Rey training to become a proper Jedi. Apparently that includes igniting a lightsaber, swinging it, and levitating some rocks.

Sounds like Luke is training Rey the best he knows how, considering he got his training from a muppet in a swamp. Is it wrong to hope he'll make Rey carry him on her back, too?

Directed by Rian Johnson and starring Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Laura Dern, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie, and Benicio del Toro, Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens in cinemas on December 15, 2017.
