If you haven't picked up an Xbox 360 because of its glaringly obvious lack of stealth assassination games, your reason is no longer valid. Tenchu Z is under development by FromSoftware exclusively for the 360.
Tenchu Z will continue the mythology of the Tenchu universe over at least 50 levels of misdirection and evasion. Getting through them will require mastery of a wide array of ninja weaponry from grappling hooks to explosives. In short, you'll need to hone your finely tuned senses as you advance through the game gaining more powerful attacks and special moves acquired through years of ninja training - you did train for years, right?
Above: Tenchu Senran is already available in Japan. We let them have it first because they needed the head-start
The combat will emphasize patience, strategy and brutal assassinations over the already establised run-and-gun style of other 360 actions games (eg: Our current favorite reason to own a 360 - Gears of War ). Will Tenchu be the next big thing for the 360? Who knows, it's been awhile since the last satisfying Tenchu game, and they could be due for a comeback.
Tenchu Z is the imported version of Japanese game, Tenchu Senran, and will be published by Microsoft. If it can realize the potential we've seen in the past from the series, we’ll be the first in line to debunk the myth that Americans can’t be ninjas.
There is no release date for the game right now, but check out our News and Videos for Tenchu Senran until we can find more about Z.
