      I think it still holds up today, minus one thing... that spinning perspective of the old fps games like Duke 3d and quake. It starts to give me a headache if I play it too long, but that's just technical limitations.

      I was going to buy this when it was $30 but I played the demo first. Saved $30. Not a bad game, just very average in my opinion. It did have the best character animation I've ever seen, though.

      I played the 360 demo, and it made me want to get the full game. I didn't care for the racing at all, and wish that they had focused less on that, but I'd still get it just for how much fun the combat is.

      Fuck the guy who said Minecraft. That game got so boring after a while. I had it for a few months and it got so boring that I had to resort to the Single Player Commands mod to get my fun out of it. It's not a game. It's a toy. you can add all the bosses and endgames that you can add, Notch. Still doesn't make it a game. It's a fad that's on the verge of death. The games I would pick? Probably these: Doom 1&2 Duke Nukem 3D, because it took Doom 1&2's gameplay and made it even better. Team Fortress 2, because it's just an all-around fun game. And the modded servers on it are some of the best things ever. Serious Sam 1-3. It's a top down shooter in a first person perspective. I have never felt like I have been in more chaotic fun than when I played Serious Sam. It's not a throwback to Doom like people say it is though. It's a throwback to games like Gauntlet in a first-person perspective. Not to mention that the game can scare the shit out of you at times, with jump scares like no other.

      Man, I was expecting this game to really test my new laptop's performance, but now I know I can crank it up to high without a problem. Really wanting to get this game, but with Revelations, Skyrim, and Skyward Sword coming out not long after, it'll be a tough choice.

      The reason the specs are so reasonable is the megatexture tech. I played the game on 360 and it looks amazing. It looks like a PC game. The tech allows for much more highly detailed textures and yet also good performance, even on the consoles. Of course, I haven't played the whole game yet, so we'll have to see if it can maintain the looks and performance through the end.
