i have listened to the "Exile, Vilify" song probably 100 times, if not more. I would say it is on par with Trentemoller's "Miss You" and goddamn do i wish i will be able to work at Valve one day... Here's to hoping my bachelors in animation and minor in computer science will get me there! ha ha

no song describes Joker and Batman best the way Deranged by Coheed and Cambria did.

Oh and being that the Vita isn't out yet, and that the screenshots of it's version of Uncharted look amazing, I think that first sentence of Infinity Blades section is just wrong.

you guys are nuts Arkham City was a much better game than Asylum, true Asylum was a more focused story, but that was all down to the location, it was narrow and confining and enveloped the player in a wonderfully gloomy atmosphere. Arkham city is a much more spiraling locale, therefore the story doesn't need to be as immediately focused, it allows you to explore the wonderfully detailed world at your leisure and the sheer size of the map and variety of gameplay puts Asylum to shame...
but as for GOTY material, before i played Skyrim i was 100% sure this was it, now its a wash and and its almost impossible for me to choose which is better...

I agree with a few others in that I preferred Arkham Asylum for being more focussed and story driven and the Asylum itself was very "Metroidvania" to explore whereas I felt you only really needed all the gadgets to get the Riddler trophies in AC. My biggest problem with AC was getting my head around all the characters as I only really know the main villains and side characters. And the disappointing final boss again.
But it's still an awesome game. Definitely one of the best this year and it deserves this nomination. Personally I'd choose LA Noire but I know it wont get a look-in because of Skyrim, Portal, AC and Zelda.

"Are you a PC elitist or hater?"
I'm neither. I'm a PC GAMER. Not all PC gamers are elitists. I did not expect that to come from Matthew Keast. I thought he was GR's resident PC Gamer.

Is the Wii really dead already? How many great games did it end up with? Do you need even two hands to count them? It's too bad, the NES and SNES had so many greats (and what a surprise, many were Zelda games, presumably pretty similar to this one.) Too bad you need underpowered machines to support Nintendo, instead of them going multiplatform. Of course, Sega hasn't really produced so many greats since becoming software only producers.

Twlight Princess, Mario Galaxy 1, Mario Galaxy 2, Wario Ware Smooth Moves, Metroid Other M (not great but good), Metroid Prime 3, Skyward Sword, Mario Kart Wii, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Super Paper Mario, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Xenoblade Chronicles, Last Story (if xenoblade sells well enough), and the much better version of Okami. Now it wasn't as great as NES and Snes for it's time. But it wasn't a bad system, just a disappointment. And I love how you talk about how great the NES was, yet talk about how bad the graphics were. Newsflash, the NES was competing with the Sega Genesis. Now both were good systems, but was the NES inferior? Not really. The Snes was competing with the 32x and the atari Jaguar. You wanna tell me whats better of the three? Just because it's not omg HD, it doesn't mean that it's not fun. Uncharted is a 8 hour game, then it's done, but I spent more hours in Skyward Sword, then any game for PS3 or Xbox this year, logging in over 40 hours. And no the wii's not dead. Xenoblade and hopefully last story are still coming out for it.

I think I've spent way more time with Patapon 3 and Ghost Trick this year, but out of the GotY choices...I'd probably go with either this one or Portal 2...

Portal 2 should win, no brains. It's the only true comedy I've seen in gaming, and that's not only because of Wheatley/Cave Johnson.
Where the hell are you guys leaving Deus Ex?

I still don't get why portal 2 is so popular. Sure it was interesting and fun while it lasted, but so many people see it as like the second coming of God.
I guess it's just not my kind of game.

There's been a lot of fantastic Downloadable games this year. Just to mention a couple, Bastion will definitely make it onto my top 10 overall for the year, and I put over 30 hours into Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes and loved it the whole way through.
Just started Stacking and I must say I'm really liking it so far too.
