Star Wars 8 "won't disappoint" according to, er, Captain Phasma actress Gwendoline Christie

Alright, so she's not exactly an unbiased source, but the shiny-armored stormtrooper of Star Wars 8 is pretty sure you'll enjoy the film. Gwendoline Christie, who will reprise her role from Star Wars: The Force Awakens as the First Order's Captain Phasma, kept mum on any new details about the film itself in an interview with Entertainment Weekly but did offer a brief assessment of the material.

“I don’t think anyone’s going to be disappointed,” Christie said. Then she smiled knowingly, as if thinking of a cool scene where she and her squad obliterate the Ewok village from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi in a massive revenge killing. That is a lot to speculate from a smile, admittedly.

We still don't know much about Star Wars 8, and that includes the extent of Captain Phasma's role. She survived the destruction of Starkiller Base, but she must be carrying a massive grudge from that whole "being captured, forced to commit treason, and thrown into a trash compactor" thing. Chewie and Finn had better watch out.

Directed by Rian Johnson and starring Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Laura Dern, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie, and Benicio del Toro, Star Wars: Episode 8 opens in cinemas on December 15, 2017.
