Smackdown vs. Raw: Scarily accurate Street Fighter cast are so good it's downright surreal

Seriously, does this guy ACTUALLY work for Capcom?

I find this amazing feat borderline offensive for a whole variety of reasons. First of all, there's the obvious "you are way too talented at this character creation malarky, you insidious sod" angle. And then there's the way that my Japanese fighting game snob nature objects to the smooth and seamless way my favourite cast have been integrated into a bloody wrestling game (yes, I know SvR is a good series, and I know it's Japanese developed, but I'm talking video game snobbery here, so strict logic need not apply).

And then ultimately there's the way that this meticulously-created set of characters are such completely plausible recreations that they flip out my whole sense of reality and make me think that I'm looking at some long-lost wrestling-based Street Fighter spin-off that never really existed but maybe now it did. It's the stuff that schizophrenia is made of. Seriously, this stuff is so good it's surreal. Even the special moves are in.

Created by an insanely talented (and patient) chap by the name of Jimmy, this almost complete Super Street Fighter IV cast is almost entirely good enough to pass for official. We're looking at some serious creativity here, right down to the carefully chosen specials, alternate costumes and quality of video production, and the man responsible is to be applauded. Particularly given that - in case you didn't watch the video to the end - he's put the whole lot of them out for download on Xbox Live. Tell me you're not running to queue them up right now.

That's mighty fine work (he even made the alternate costumes,including the Marvel Versus series' Iron Skin/Mock Colossus/Ruskie Robot/'Optimus Premiere' and Mayor of Metro City Zangief),though only Zangief and E.Honda are at home in any sort of wrestling ring. Excellence in craftsmanship aside,the complete lack of Rainbow Mika was criminal. Still,this free fan made DLC is almost reason alone for me to actually consider purchasing a wrestling game for the first time since Wrestlemania...for the NES. Has this Jim-personator done a Saturday Night Slam Masters edition yet?

@Geminiman82: Women in SvR have been slowly but steadily being restricted in their activities for years now. I have not played SvR'11, but in '09 they could only be used for basic 1 on 1 matches and basic tag matches (plus whatever degrading female only minigame they include that year: BnP). It's really a shame that they have continued this trend; I used to have some CAW female wrestlers that could wreck any WWE star, but now they are relegated to side events. The creator probably has not yet bothered with them because they could only be used in standard matches (boring). I agree that they are a glaring omission, though.

damn. thats awesome. wonder how long it took for him to create all the stuff. oh and id like to see him do a DX vs ken and ryu match. or undertaker and kane vs bison and vega

That was very impressive. I'm confused though... I have'nt played the game, so I wouldnt know, but are those options REALLY in the create a charecter mode? Like DeeJay's "maximum" pants, T. Hawk's Facial paint, but not a hair feather (subbing a flower? lol), Vega's chest tattoo, Zangief's body scars, etc. That stuff's really all in there? Just seems odd... I bust a gut when Akuma "snuck up" on Gouken, and Gouken's stereotypical "wrestling" reaction. lol brilliant.

Wow, those are impressive. Some serious talent on display there. Doing the skins is one thing, but the special moves are a stroke of genius.

This almost makes me want Smackdown 2011. I did buy 2010 cheap 'cause I haven't bought one in a while. And @AdonisX82 - There are a phenomenal amount of parts for CAWs in SvR games, but most of these guys are probably made from many layers - such as taking pants and writing "Maximum" letter by letter down the side, or taking a simple scar design, stretching it out, colouring it, and then replicating and rotating it across the body for Zangief. Same for things like Hawk's face paint. The Smackdown CAW system is the deepest I think I've ever seen.
