Today, Bethesda has launched the first installment of the Skyrim team diaries. In addition to over 40 pieces of gorgeous art, you’ll also find the team’s first podcast, Completely Blue Sky: The Concept of Skyrim, featuring concept artists Ray Lederer and Adam Adamowicz. Check it out for a behind-the-scenes perspective of how an epic project like Skyrim begins - and see the transition from concept art to in-game visuals in the brief video montage above.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim launches worldwide on November 11, 2011 for the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. While you’re waiting to master your dragon shouts, be sure to check out the 63 amazing things we saw and did in Skyrim preview.
