Silent Hill: Book of Memories and Silent Hill Collection announced, plus new info on Downpour

Talk about a "Downpour" of new Silent Hill information, LOL! But seriously, this is a lot to take in for survival-horror enthusiasts. At Konami's pre-E3 show today, not only was a brand-new Silent Hill announced for NGP, called Silent Hill: Book of Memories, but the publisher also announced Silent Hill Collection, which bundles HD remakes of Silent Hill 2 and 3. Along with a revealing new trailer for Silent Hill: Downpour, the presentation gives us a tiny behind-the-scenes glimpse at the upcoming movie Silent Hill: Revelation 3D too.

I'm pretty pumped for the HD Remakes. And I'm TOTALLY excited for downpour! Jump-scares and combat? It's what Silent Hill is known for!

I remember when HD remakes were free, they came in the form of mods done by fans, some mods go as far as to change even the enemy models and other npcs to something a little more easy on the eyes, System Shock 2 anyone? So unless these HD remakes come with a series of extras and tweaked gameplay I might give them a pass. Also I'm sick and tired of these jump scare tactics that these games are now aiming for. In SH2 not once does the game jump you, and the game is still scary, that was what appealed to me in the first place with Silent Hill. The game still looks interesting I'll give it that.

Never got to play SH2 but I've seen vids and it already looks great in SD. Can't wait to play it in HD

Awesome news, but c'mon, why Silent Hill 3 gets HD, and Silent Hill 1 not? Silent Hill 1 and 2 are the best. SH1 deserves HD!

HD Silent Hill 2, my life is complete.

I know how good the originals were, but I still enjoy the later additions. Looks brighter than Homecoming but still looks chilling. Like really WTH is that thing?! Looking forward to the movie I did like the first. I'm guessing I may play this one to death like all my favorite horror games.

All looks amazing, but I miss Akira Yamaoka already.

Such a shame what happened to that series. I know the new games aren't terrible, but they are too far removed from the original developers vision of the game that it's lost it's unique identity. The later ones would've been stronger, in my opinion at least, as new IP's.

They also announced this for MGS2, 3 and Peace Walker. But I want to know if they contain the vanilla versions or the "Director's Cuts" like Restless Dreams and Subsistance.
