Sega classics confirmed for Wii

Toe Jam & Earl, Ecco the Dolphin, Golden Axe and Altered Beast are among seven classic Sega games confirmed for Wii's Virtual Console, according to the official website for the Entertainment Software Rating Board.

The other classics listed are Columns, Sonic the Hedgehog and (the considerably less popular) Ristar. But, of course, this ESRB listing doesn't guarantee the games will appear in the retro games line-up for Virtual Console on Nintendo's new machine.

However, submitting games to the ESRB for approval and rating would be an initial step in a game's release. And, unless Sega has some big, secret plan to remake these classic titles as fully motion-sensitive, Wii-compatible games, we're positive that you'll see Ecco, Toe Jam and pals lining up with Nintendo's retro offerings.
