See Fable 2's combat in action

Developer reveals great wedge of gameplay

"Just a single button for combat?" may have been many people'sreactionwhen developer Lionhead announced that, yes, just a single button press would perform all Fable 2's hand-to-hand maneuvers. Ignore the doom-mongers, though. By the looks of this footage it was a decision worth taking.

The gameplay footage contained in this short studio feature certainly isn't finished. But it's complete enough to show off some neat moves triggered by the context-sensitive combat system - an “over the head” backwards parry, a “head meets wall” surprise move, and plenty of running-through.

We look forward to buckling our swash with Fable 's sword-swinging characters (or even popping some percussion-caps with the pistol-wielding highwaymen) with excitement.
