Remember yesterday when Capcom teased a Dead Rising 3 involving Frank West in an undisclosed area of “paradise”? Well, forget that. Better yet: file that concept under “potential Dead Rising 2 DLC”, as a source at Siliconera is now claiming the next full chapter of Capcom's creative zombie-killing franchise will involve a new character from the border town of Los Perdidos, California, and dabble with issues surrounding illegal immigration.
According to the tipster, Dead Rising 3 will not star the suave, over-confident Frank West, but an auto mechanic named Rick (pictured) who finds himself locked down in Los Perdidos during a full scale zombie outbreak. As the de factor leader of the “illegals”, a group of infected survivors that have fallen under the government's radar, Rick's main task will be to rebuild a plane so that he, his girlfriend, and fellow survivors can get the hell out of dodge before Los Perdidos is bombed to smithereens.
In addition to story details, Sileconera's source claims the game will feature appearances by Zombrex manufacturer rep Marian Mallon, and an original antagonist named General Hemlock. New baddies will also be added to the mix, including a biker zombie who wields a steam roller, called a “Roller Hog”.
None of this sounds remotely like what Capcom was hinting at in yesterday's Facebook status, yet given Siliconera's trusty track-record, it's hard to dismiss this latest report. Even if Dead Rising 3 doesn't star Frank West, we're sure he'll wind up snapping pictures in Los Perdidos one way or another.
