Hosts: Hollander Cooper, Lorenzo Veloria, Ryan Taljonick, Henry Gilbert, Lucas Sullivan, Andy Hartup, Tom Magrino
Question of the week: What's the best thing to come out of GamesCom? A meme? A trailer? An announcement? Let us know (and shoehorn in a reference to Arnette Sunglasses) for your chance to win one of three pairs of Arnette Sunglasses! (Btw, here are the contest rules)

A high quality version of the new Pokemon X/Y trailer. Finally people are able to hear the beautiful music and the game in motion. This game is the biggest jump since G/S/C with a new pokemon type, 3D, and the feature everyone has been begging for; all the pokemon wear arnette sunglasses. The ending song btw was fantastic

Great podcast as always. You can say that items are useless but in the OTHER side of Pokemon, they are viable as all hell. Meh, I wasn't WOWED by anything, underwhelmed practically, maybe I wouldve been filled with merry and cheer if everyone at Gamescom were wearing Arnett Sunglasses.

Also, your damn right about Wind Waker, recently it looks less Bloomish. Looks like they listened

If I may flip the script and say that my least favorite thing about Gamescom was the apparent lack of Arnette sunglasses sponsorship. Imagine a world where the cameraman zooms in and out on an Arnette sunglasses wearing Jim Ryan. Or a speech where Shuhei Yoshida escapes sleeping detection by dawning a pair of sleek mirrored Arnette sunglasses. BTW I loved the indie showcase by sony. 2014 Gamescom x Arnette

The best thing that happened at Gamescom was the lead dev for War Thunder flat out said the PS4 was way more powerful than the XBONE. The dev, whose name is russian and I won't even attempt to spell, then whipped out a sweetass pair or Arnette's and screamed out a CSI Intro Montage. On an unrelated note, when Steve Ballmer said he'd step down from Microsoft at the end of the year, the stock price went up 5 percent. I guess nobody likes Steve Ballmer and his blubbery little head. :)

The best thing to come out of Gamescom was Shuhei Yoshida falling asleep. Anyone can smile at that cool dude just nodding off. And no one can blame him. Two things though: A nice pair of Arnette sunglasses would have everyone watching him sleep purely out of envy. And you know how he wouldn't have fallen asleep at all? You guessed it, if David Cage was talking about his new game "Beyond: Two Arnettes"

I think that the announcement of RIME was the best moment. Any game that is the Lovechild Of Ico and Wind Waker has got to be good in my book. I was totally watching that trailer and thinking that the only thing that could have made it better was a pair of Arnette sunglasses. In fact if I had made the trailer I would have added an Arnette sunglasses mascot guy wearing Arnette sunglasses on top of an Arnette sunglasses mountain. He probably would be riding this sweet horse that was wearing Arnette sunglasses and they would be listening to the Arnette glasses theme song while doing the Arnette sunglasses shuffle. Then he would point to the crowd and yell "Arnette Sunglasses!" Then all the kids would scream and cry because they would be full of that Arnette sunglasses feeling. In fact just talking about this my bosom is suddenly afire with the Arnette sunglasses feeling. I have got to go lay down.

The Best thing from Gamescom was the Vita Price Drop, The only thing that would have made it sweeter was if they had a vita Arnette bundle, also people complain about the meomery card price? through in a pair of rad arnettes and people wouldn't even notice the price, in fact i think people would think it was actually arnettes with a free meomery card. #Arnettes.
  • EAC73 - August 24, 2013 2:36 p.m.

Best news from Gamescom has to be the Vita price drop. With a price of $200, I really think it will compete wit the 3DS around the launch time for the PS4. Really don't know how to fit it into my answer but, ARNETTE SUNGLASSES. AM I RIGHT GUYS
  • CrKnight - August 24, 2013 1:35 p.m.

The best thing to come out of Gamescom for me was the Wind Waker bundle leak. It was so incredible it knocked my old sunglasses into oblivion so I need to get some new Arnette Sunglasses to replace them along with that WiiU bundle.

Excuse me Greg? Xeno was the captain during the FTL stream? I don't know if what I'm listening to is blasphemy or treason. I'll forgive it for that beautiful Kapp'n song at the end of the podcast though. Brought a tear to me eye. *sniff*
  • rainn'sgaydar - August 24, 2013 9:22 a.m.

I was amazed that the cameraman was clearly wearing Arnette sunglasses indoors. Think about it. They block out so much light he obviously couldn't see, but they're so cool that he got away with wearing sunglasses indoors. How do I know he was cool? Because Sony's conference was great, and that can only be thanks to the cameraman. Arnette, thank you for making Sony great.
  • SpadesSlick - August 24, 2013 8:27 a.m.

The second screen integrations that were shown and elaborated on at Gamescom are going a long way towards showing me that this is just not a gimmick and can add some legitimate entertainment to the games I love. Of course, if we are talking smartglass, the only glass that any true smart person would ever consider wearing is made by the fine folks over at Arnette Sunglasses.
  • 8bitBaby - August 24, 2013 8:24 a.m.

i appreciate you guys using that very specific song to intro the game deals section. that made me smile. QOTW: that extreeeeeeeeme close up on that one guys face was the best part of GC for me. otherwise i was kind of bored with the whole show.
  • alecbeals - August 23, 2013 11:20 p.m.

You guys really should do an article on the great games crash, many people don't know of it any more than by name or truly understand how close an entire culture and form of media came to going extinct. Don't do some top 10, or some publicity piece but an actual well written and easy to approach article that I think would really give GR an impressive standing as a site that can post more than just articles designed to get as many hits as possible. Great podcast as always
  • theguyinthecloset - August 23, 2013 11:11 p.m.

what's with the song at the end?
  • TokenGamesRadarFurry - August 24, 2013 11:05 a.m.

Is a sung version of the sea shanties Kapp'n sings to you in Animal Crossing New Leaf.
  • codystovall - August 23, 2013 11:09 p.m.

Rayman wearing ray bands whilst watching Everybody loves Raymond. Ben Affleck is da batman.
  • dangomushi - August 23, 2013 10:36 p.m.

Resident Evil 2, Fighters Megamix, Indy 500. The greyscale palette made it feel like you were already wearing a pair of severely dark Arnette shades while playing. But alas, I never had a pair of my own... Wait! What? I thought you were asking about the Tiger Game.Com.
