With all the talk about the lines blurring between movies and videogames, you'd think that Hollywood by now would have developed a pretty good idea of what gaming is all about. But if you watch many movies, you'll know it hasn't. It might be kids wildly pounding off-brand Xbox controllers as random Atari noises play. Maybe there'll be a laughable "virtual reality" sequence thrown in, or maybe the non-gaming director will use games as an awkward metaphor for the awful stuff we teach our kids. Whatever the case, every movie seems to have its own idea of what videogames are like, and most are either 20 years behind the curve or just flat-out nonsensical.
Whatever the reasons, there've been a ton of deeply weird, irksome and just plain stupid appearances by videogames in film over the years, and you're about to witness the absolute dumbest ones we could find. Click the tabs at left to get started.
