Paranormal Activity 2 grabs director

With production on the second Paranormal Activity steaming ahead, the sequel has now bagged itself a director - Saw VI director Kevin Greutert.

Meanwhile, Michael R Perry has signed on to script the project. It will be the writer’s first big screen project after having worked in TV on the likes of Millennium , The Dead Zone and House .

Original Activity producers Jason Blum and Oren Peli are apparently over the moon with this new creative pairing.

“These guys get it, and the fans won't be disappointed,” Peli said of Perry and Greutert's recruitment.

Set for release in October, the Paranormal Activity sequel will be going up against Saw VII at the box office.

We don’t expect Greutert is concerned though – the original Activity thrashed his Saw VI in cinemas last October, going on to take $151m worldwide.
